Within a year, container shipping returns to „normal“ levels.

If container shipping reliability continues to improve at the current rate, within a year container shipping will be back to normal levels as before Covid – 19.

The latest report from analyst firm Sea Intelligence showed reliability over delays.

In the month of July, the average number of days of delay was 6.2, an improvement of over 20% compared to January this year.

If these improvements continue, it is possible to achieve normalization by April next year.

This refers to the backlog against the initially announced estimated time of arrival of ships that were delayed. According to Sea-Intelligence, this was still six in ten last month, but it was a considerable improvement in January, when only three in ten ships reached ports of call on schedule.
