Stranded Cargo ship refloated in Suez Canal
Off Port Saïd, in the northern part of the Suez Canal, a large cargo ship ran aground on Monday morning. With the help of several tugs, this ship was quickly refloated. The bulk carrier Glory ship was on its way to China with Ukrainian grain. When the ship tried to join a convoy after passing the city of El-Qantarah, it ran aground. Fortunately, this ship was released fairly quickly and this only caused a delay for about twenty-one ships. This is not the first time a ship has run aground here; in March 2021, the Suez Canal was blocked for six days by the Ever Given, a container ship that had run aground in the canal.
