21-May-2025: Following on from our earlier report on the problems at the port of Antwerp, the port of Rotterdam is not escaping trouble either. Capacity problems seem to be the main reason for increasing delays for the time being. This inconvenience is experienced both on the landside and on the waterfront. These delays are constantly increasing, as a result of which containers cannot be unloaded or delivered on time, with all the adverse consequences this entails.

14-May-2025: As you have undoubtedly noticed, waiting times at terminals and depots have been increasing significantly recently. These delays are having a growing impact on our operations and, unfortunately, are also bringing additional costs.

06-February-2025: With effect of shipped on board date March 1st, 2025, some carriers announced to implement a Peak Season Surcharge for all shipments moving from Northern Europe to USA, Canada and Mexico.

06-February-2025: Same as each year, following the Quebec Ministry of Transport regulations, carriers will apply restrictions to cargo weight during the annual Spring Thaw period, expected to start on March 15th (u.c.p.).

06-February-2025: RWG-Terminal in Rotterdam will implement rate changes to enhance operational efficiency and enable further investments in the landside process.
Starting Tuesday 1 April 2025, the following rates will apply.

06-February-2025: The Yemen Ministry of Transport has announced that the Advance Cargo Declaration (ACD) procedure will be mandatory for all shipments heading to Yemeni ports, effective February 1st 2025.

09-January-2025: A tentative agreement on a new, six-year contract between the ILA and the USMX ended the threat of a possible new strike. This means that operations at major US ports (both East-, West- and Gulfcoast ports) will continue.

24-December-2024: The tentative Master Contract agreement between the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) and the United States Maritime Alliance, Ltd. (USMX) expires Jan. 15, 2025. Until a final agreement is reached, a strike by dockworkers in the U.S. East, West, Gulf Coast ports (including Puerto Rico & the Bahamas) is imminent.

If you’re involved in handling, shipping, or transporting goods (including express and postal consignments) to or through the EU, Northern Ireland, Norway, or Switzerland by sea and inland waterways, you need to be aware of the new ICS2 requirements and take the necessary steps to comply with them.

4-October-2024: The International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) and the United States Maritime Alliance, Ltd. (USMX) have reached a tentative agreement on wages and have agreed to extend the Master Contract until January 15, 2025 to return to the bargaining table to negotiate all other outstanding issues.
