Blank sailing program

In addition to the suspension of THE alliance’s FE5 service, shipping lines have announced the continuation and/or expansion of the blank sailing program in November and December. The purpose of the blank sailing program is to create space shortages/full ships, either by withdrawing ships from service or skipping ports. By creating an artificial shortage of space, shipping companies announced an increase in ocean freight rates. The blank sailing program could lead to possible shipment delays or schedule changes. We recommend booking as early as possible to be sure of a guaranteed sailing.
